Best Places To Visit In Jibhi

Sikhs claim that Guru Nanak Dev ji and his disciples Bhai Bala and Bhai Mardana visited this location in 1574 Bikrami during the third Udasi. While in the Manikaran region with Bhai Bala and Bhai Mardana, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji noticed that Bhai Mardana was hungry and that they were without food. To gather food for Langar, Guru Nanak dispatched his close friend Bhai Mardana (the Community Kitchen). To make Roti (bread), a lot of people donated flour (atta). The lack of fire to cook the food was the only issue. When Bhai Mardana raised a stone at the request of Guru Nanak, hot water (or a spring) materialized.

To his horror, the chapatis sank when Mardana placed the rolled ones in the spring as instructed by Guru Nanak Dev ji. Then, Guru Nanak instructed him to pray to God, promising to contribute one chapatis in God’s name if his chapatis floated back. Not to mention, all of the chapatis began to float after he finished praying and baking. In fact, according to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the items of the drowned person float back to them if they donate in the name of God.

Additionally, spring water considered to be exceedingly auspicious and medicinal. Rice for the “Langar” cooked by placing it in a linen bag and submerging it in the boiling water because the water is so hot.
