From February 23 to 25, Panchkula will host the fifth edition of the Chitra Bharati Film Festival 2024 at Red Bishop, Sector 1. Besides that, numerous famous people from the film business will be attending the event. Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, will open the film festival.
Deputy commissioner (DC) Sushil Sarwan checked on the event’s preparations at Red Bishop’s convention center and grounds, giving the necessary instructions to the involved personnel to ensure a successful event.
According to him, this national cinema festival would bring together filmmakers from all across the nation and be run jointly by the government of Haryana and Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana. In fact, this time, in attendance were executive engineer Sameer Sharma, chief executive officer of zila parishad Gagandeep Singh, executive secretary of Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana Surendra Yadav, and representatives from the relevant departments.

According to the DC, Union Minister of Sports, Youth Affairs, Information, and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on February 25, with Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal set to kick off the film festival on February 23.
Actors Pammibal and Randeep Hooda launched the film festival trophy at Chandigarh’s Tagore Theater on January 10. According to Sarwan, Haryana has been given the chance to host a national-level film festival for the first time, and plans are in place to ensure a smooth and successful event.
This year’s event is expected to draw actors like Chandraprakash Dwiwedi, Sudipto Sen, Vipul Shah, Pankaj Tripathi, Kirron Kher, Rajkumar Rao, and Sunny Deol. According to the DC, ‘Bharatiya Chitra Sadhna’ is an organization that uses movies to showcase and promote Indian culture. Its mission is to use the medium’s power to portray Indian culture realistically and to aid in societal integration.
5th Chitra Bharati Film Festival
The Chitra Bharati cinema Festival attracts a wide range of national participants, including filmmakers, artists, and cinema enthusiasts. Not to mention, in this, films of budding film-makers are screened, dialogues with eminent artists of the film industry and workshops are organized for the youth. Additionally, Bollywood stars including Madhur Bhandarkar, Hema Malini, Prasoon Joshi, Subhash Ghai, Vivek Agnihotri, and Akshay Kumar have already graced the Chitra Bharati stage.

The festival is divided into four categories, each focusing on a unique aspect of artistic expression:
Documentary – Capturing Real Stories (45 minutes): Filmmakers are encouraged to enter this category to exhibit their documentary storytelling abilities. Thus, for forty-five minutes, participants will tell gripping stories that illuminate different facets of our society.
Short Films – A Glimpse into Creativity (30 minutes): Within the tight 30-minute time limit, filmmakers can showcase their artistic vision in the short film category. Anticipate to be charmed by inventive storytelling and compelling storylines.
Children’s Films – Shaping Young Minds (20 minutes): This category is dedicated to kid-friendly movies that showcase the bravery of young heroes, new developments in early childhood education, and the dissemination of moral principles. In addition, the younger generation is intended to be inspired and educated by these 20-minute films.
Campus Films – Unveiling Talent (Open to both trained and untrained individuals): After all, both experienced and inexperienced people can enter this category to display their skills and originality. This category gives you the opportunity to shine whether you’re an experienced artist or a novice to the field of filmmaking.
